Creating Access Controls:

To establish access controls, it’s essential to have access models in place, as every control is built upon a model, and each model relies on entitlements. Ensure that you have at least one access model before attempting to create an access control. You can convert multiple access models into controls simultaneously.

It’s crucial to note that while creating an access model, processing logic, names, and descriptions should remain unique, but other values should be consistent for all the controls created simultaneously. In summary, before creating an Access Control, ensure that you have Access Models and Entitlements ready.

Creation of Access Entitlements:

  • Navigate to the “Navigator” in the Navigation Panel, then select “Control Management” from the dropdown list, and click on “Manage Access Entitlement.”
  • To add a new entitlement, click on the “Actions” button and choose “Add.”
  • A new line will appear. Double-click on each field to start entering data. (Note: Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.)
  • Begin filling in the necessary information.
  • To define the entitlement, add “Access Points.” Click on the “Access Points*” button as shown below.
  • Click “Access Points*” and a box will pop up..
  • Select the relevant functions and drag and drop the functions that correspond to the entitlement into the box below the “Access Points*” button, as illustrated below.
  • Once all the required fields are filled in, and the necessary “Access Points” are included in the box, click the “Save” button to save the new entitlement in the system.

To summarize, AACG 8.6.3 emphasizes the importance of efficient access control management, requiring access models and entitlements to be in place before creating controls. This process involves defining and saving access entitlements to ensure system integrity. Following these steps is vital for robust access control management in AACG 8.6.3.
