This guide is designed to lead you through the steps required to initially activate Oracle Guided Learning or to upgrade role mapping and custom script configurations for Oracle Guided Learning.

Prerequisites:

  • You must have an Application Administrator User ID.
  • You should be working within an Oracle Guided Learning sandbox.

Required Information to complete the configuration:

  • You will need a 22-character Application ID for your Guided Learning instance.
  • Access to the Security Console is necessary or
  • Custom scripts from the Oracle Guided Learning team may be required, (Wherever it is applicable)

Follow the steps given below for the configuration:

Step 1:

  • Access Configuration
  • Click the sandbox

Step 2:

  • Create Sandbox

Step 3:

  • Name the sandbox.
  • Activate Guided Learning Tools.
  • Click “Create” and then “Enter.”

Step 4:

  • Choose Setup and Maintenance

Step 5:

  • Click on the taskbar.

Step 6:

  • Click “Global Search”

Step 7:

  • Enter “Configure Guide Learning.”

Step 8:

  • Click Search

Step 9:

  • Click the “Configure Guided Learning” option.

Step 10:

  • Fill in the Application ID

Step 11:

  • Choose an Environment based on your content needs:
  • Development: Utilize the “Draft and published content” setting, for the testing and development environments
  • Production: Utilize the “Only published content” setting, for production environments.

Step 12:

  • Click the “+” icon.

Step 13:

  • Specify the customized role code along with the corresponding Oracle Guided Learning role.

Step 14:

For an instance, select “Employee” for role codes

  • ABC_PER_EMPLOYEE
  • ABC_PER_EXP_EMPLOYEE
  • ORA_PER_LINE_MANAGER
  • ORA_PER_EXEC_MANAGER.

Use the “+” icon to add more role mappings if needed.

Step 15:

Input the requisite additional scripts.

Supported customization scripts involve:

  • Multilanguage support.
  • Oracle Guided Learning: Mobile (Oracle Fusion Applications).
  • Oracle Guided Learning Variables for Messaging (User Territory).

Step 16:

  • Save and Close

Step 17:

  • Click on the Sandbox menu.

Step 18:

  • Click “Publish,” but ensure you have the appropriate permissions.

Step 19:

  • Click yes

Step 20:

  • Select Publish

Step 21:

With these steps, you have successfully enabled and configured Oracle Guided Learning. For updates to role mappings or scripts, create a new Guided Learning sandbox and follow the steps outlined in this guide.
