A Data Role amalgamates a worker’s job and the data that users with that job must access. For instance, this can include roles such as “Payroll Administrator US” or “Human Resource Specialist R&D.”

To create a Data Role, follow these steps:

Step 1: Log in to your Fusion Application.

Step 2: Navigate to the Setup & Maintenance section.

Step 3: Select “Setup Financials.”

Step 4: Under the Financials setup, go to the task “Manage Data Role and Security Profiles” within the FSM (Fusion Setup Manager).

Step 5: Select “Manage Data Role and Security Profiles.”

Step 6: Enter a new Data Role name and choose the associated Job Role.

Step 7: Data Role Code: HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER CUSTOM DATA ROLE TG.

Step 8: For each object type, include only one security profile and click “Next.”

Step 9: Create a new Security Profile where needed.

Step 10: Expand the Security Profile and complete the necessary details.

Step 11: Review and submit your changes.

Step 12: Navigate to the Security Console.

Step 13: Select the “Manage User” tab and query the user you want to assign the Data Role to.

Step 14: Click “Edit” and choose to add a role.

Step 15: Search for the newly created Data Role, in this case, “HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER CUSTOM DATA ROLE TG.”

Step 16: Click “Add Role Membership” and then click “Done.”

Step 17: Finally, the Data Role will be successfully added to the user.

Step 18: Click “Save & Close.”

These steps will help you create and assign a Data Role in Fusion Applications.
