This blog details how to enable one person to act as a proxy, also known as User Impersonation, for another individual within a Fusion Application.

In the Fusion Application, you can designate another user as a proxy to access the application on your behalf and perform tasks for you. This can be done by navigating to the “Set Preferences” menu and selecting “Proxies.”

Proxy users are particularly useful when you are unable to perform tasks in person for a specific period. This process is often referred to as User Impersonation.

When your designated proxy signs into the application on your behalf, they enter into an impersonation session. During this period, they have unrestricted access to your account, with the exception that they cannot modify your preferences.

The application is designed to support a scenario where both you and your designated proxies can sign in simultaneously.

Warning: It’s crucial to be aware that, as an HCM Cloud user, your proxies will have access to your personal and sensitive information, such as your salary details and national IDs.

For instance:

Impersonation User: Sriram.Chandran

Impersonating TEST User: Test.Sri

Current Privileges for TEST User: Test.Sri

Here’s how to set up a proxy for Test.Sri:

Access “General Preferences” and select “Proxy.”

When adding a proxy user, be sure to specify a “Start Date” and “End Date.” Note that the original user can revoke access at any time.

To log onto Test.Sri and switch to the proxy user Sriram.Chandran,

Oracle will prompt you for the password of Test.Sri.

Oracle will then display the privileges of the impersonated user.

By following the above steps you can successfully enable one person to act as a proxy, also known as User Impersonation, for another individual within a Fusion Application.
